Andrea worked in Germany for several years as a Purchase and Sales Manager in both industry and trade.
In 1997 she moved to England with her husband and first child. Here she gained her Cambridge Certificate in Advanced English - and gave birth to her second child!
In 2000 the family moved to the United States of America. Based in Dover, Delaware, Andrea successfully worked for fund raisers, committees and studied computer applications at Delaware Tech College. She also developed a keen interest in running.
At 7 months pregnant with her third child, Andrea moved continent again.
The Schmitz family are now happily settled in Geneva where they have built a new home.
Andrea is a member of the International Transferee's Geneva Committee which helps expatriates to settle in, easing the transition to Switzerland. She has organized practical tours of Geneva, coffee-mornings and evening events - ensuring newcomers have a trouble-free and friendly welcome.
She is also on her children's school board. Now her youngest child is at school full-time she is able to devote her time to helping others enjoy all that Geneva has to offer.
Andrea says, " I understand the difficulties and differences encountered when moving house, country and continent. I've done it! Let me make things easier for you."
