The Vaud Survival Kit Series No. 1, 26.03.10 with link to chart, update: 10.05.
2010/4/29 12:21:42 (7269 reads)

Dear participants,

To follow-up our email dated March 25 (see below) and our promise to get back to you with more information directed to different age groups, we discussed internally how parents could benefit the most from information on this complex school system and the upcoming changes (HarmoS).

We came to the conclusion that a special page on our website www.LemanEvents.ch with information about the Vaud school system linked to an “online panel” with experts, available all year long to answer your questions, would serve your needs the best.

We will use the coming months to set up this “online panel” with different disciplines and backgrounds.

With the start of the new school year we will have this special school page online.

We attached some information we received in English from the “Canton de Vaud”. Perhaps it is helpful to those who are in the process of making decisions now. If you know of someone who would like to be added to this special “school system” mailing list please ask him or her to send me an email.

We will keep you posted.

With kind regards.

1st event of a series to follow: The Vaud Survival Kit

explanation and Q&A in English: understanding the Vaud school system by Institut Polycours, Lausanne

organised by Leman Events

 Dear all,

As promised we send you the link to access a subset of last Monday’s presentation with a transcript of key facts and most illustrative Q&A’s.

The objective of the presentation was to give an overall description of schooling in Vaud. One of the conclusions of the evening is that future lectures require a segmentation by age group and a panel with fluent English speakers in order to clearly explain the complexity of the system AND its future. In April, we will get back to you with a follow-up of future seminars dedicated to Primary; Secondary; and University / Post-Secondary.

With this first presentation and subsequent events, we aim to provide the international community with better information about the Vaud school system.

Note re HarmoS:
Given the current debate around HarmoS, it is difficult to give a concrete planning and description of its consequences. However, this harmonization of the Swiss education system will impact public schooling in the near future. Be ready and follow its developments! First adjustments may already take place during 2011, and full implementation will happen ultimately by 2015.

If you need advice on a personal level, please contact Laure Caron (laure.caron@polycours.com) or Paul Jacquin (paul.jacquin@polycours.com) to make an appointment and discuss further.

With kind regards.
